During these uncertain times, many State and Central government departments are proactively using emerging tech tools to address financial pressures, support remote work and ensure business continuity and quickly scaling to meet unusual spikes in demand while delivering citizen services effectively. The States and the Centre are using modern technologies to ensure citizens, particularly in the remote areas, continue to get essential services digitally like e-pass for uninterrupted movement across the country, telemedicine services, online classes for students, online issuance of government certificates, Aadhaar-enabled bank services, ration and conducting competitive exams among many others.

It is because of the government’s proactiveness, general public including employees, pensioners, businessmen benefitted from the IT enabled services provided for downloading digitally signed land records copies, eService book, pension disbursement, payments to contractors, extensions in the dates of registration of vehicles, driving licenses among others. To continue these efforts States Governments need strong technology support and data analytics to predict the situation and take measures and ensure business continuity. The government’s top priority is to improve and strengthen governance in these uncertain times. More specifically, to evaluate the power of Cloud to empower automation and enable delivery of effective e-governance services.

As a continued extension of our support to the Digital India initiative, Express Computer of The Indian Express Group in association with AWS are organising and insightful webinar on, “Improved Citizen Services in the New Normal”, to focus on exemplary success stories from the Government departments, and share best practices on navigating these uncertain times through technology.
