India as a nation has progressed a lot in the field of information communication and technology (ICT) in the recent years and the use of ICT has brought a paradigm shift in the way the Governments deliver citizen centric services.

The emerging technologies have enabled the citizens to access over 1,200 central and state government services in multiple Indian languages over smartphone devices, including services such as Aadhaar, passport, digital payment services, DigiLocker, Bharat Bill Payment System, PAN, EPFO, AICTE, CBSE, tax and fee or utilities bills payments, education, job search, tax, business, health, agriculture, travel, Indian Railway tickets booking, birth certificates among plethora of others.

These online services are the testimony of the Government's serious efforts towards usage of pioneer technologies for the betterment of the citizens. There is a greater thrust on promoting startups to drive innovations.

In recent years, we have seen the Centre and States have used cutting edge technologies like AI, ML, Cloud, data analytics, Blockchain among others to to improve and strengthen governance and citizen service delivery. They have emerged as the pioneer in adopting technologies.

More specifically, it is interesting to observe how Cloud is empowering automation and enabling delivery of effective e-governance services. As the world gets ready for a contactless world, there will be a rise in AI powered self service channels rolled out by the Government for citizens.

Express Computer of The Indian Express Group in association with AWS is going to organise a virtual roundtable, "A Conversation with Tech Titans", on March 24, 2021 to focus on exemplary success stories from the Central and the State departments, and share best practices on strengthening e-governance.
